What a brilliant proposition to change the link with the Crown as well as make Canada independant at last! Some years ago, we had (as in Wales) the silly proposal that Charles the Third be King of Canada until he becomes a real king, which, God forbid, will never happen, at least under THAT name: Maybe Edward the Ninth or David the First, but not Charles, the Britishers being too superstitious for that. Don't forget the first was beheaded and the second finished as an exile in France...
